Whatever metric is used, whether it is the number of people recommending, or the number of people visiting... it can be gamed. The other problem is the speed with which new things arrive and things disappear from the grid... whether to be destroyed entirely or because they have migrated to another grid. Finally, one man's meat is another man's poison! This is true on the net too... what my children may find funny and what references they understand from contemporary culture are different from the references that I understand. Over the past cole of days I have had to explain Scooby Doo, Goofy and other 70s references to my 15 year old. 'm not sure what the solution is. I think the person who solves it and enables people to locate the things which will inspire or move them in the virtual worlds, will take the world one step closer to being the 3D web.Feehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05878413819251951017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1886672729534359476.post-13948244905033761272010-08-22T16:56:14.333-07:002010-08-22T16:56:14.333-07:00Maybe SL needs a way to recommend things-to-do bas...Maybe SL needs a way to recommend things-to-do based on your interests and tastes, something like the way Netflix, Stumbleupon, or Hunch work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
